Visa
Working visa(E-9, E-7, D-8)
1. Overview
Korean visas are largely divided into visas that allow employment and visas that do not allow employment. Each visa has requirements for issuance, and the representative visas that allow you to work in Korea are as follows (there are also various other visas, so please visit us if you need detailed consultation regarding visas).
2. Non-professional employment (E-9)
Small and medium-sized businesses with less than 300 full-time employees or less than 8 billion won in capital can invite foreigners with a non-professional employment (E-9) visa under the Employment Permit System. Foreigners with a non-professional employment (E-9) visa are restricted from changing their place of business, and in principle, their period of stay is restricted.
3. Skilled worker (E-7-4)
Foreigners who have resided for more than 4 years on a non-professional employment (E-9), fishing (E-10), or visiting employment (H-2) visa and are working normally, and who meet the requirements of an annual salary of 26 million won or more, are skilled. Applies to skilled worker (E-7-4) visa (as of 2024).
The skilled worker (E-7-4) visa selects a set number of people every year, so in order to change to a skilled worker (E-7-4) visa, you must systematically acquire additional points according to the selection plan.
4. Corporate investment (D-8)
Foreigners who invest 100 million won or more in capital in Korea and own more than 10/100 of the total number of stocks of the invested corporation are eligible for a corporate investment (D-8) visa. However, even if the above amount is satisfied, the Immigration Office is thoroughly examining the source of the investment and whether an independent business has been secured.
